A representative from LifeBanc shares how her organization was able to gain access at 30 hospitals and what that transition has meant for those hospital and the eye bank staff. The session also focuses on the HIPAA rule and how to distinguish between data which may be considered "confidential" vs. data that is covered under the HIPAA Rule.

Director of Donor Development and Educations, San Diego Eye Bank
Nancy Biagioni is the Director of Development and Education at the San Diego Eye Bank. Nancy provides hospitals, hospices and other healthcare facilities with guidance, education and support regarding eye donation. She assists healthcare facilities maintain compliance with federal and state regulations regarding anatomical donation. Nancy manages and reports referral and donor statistics to hospitals and hospices, participates in hospital donor committee meetings and is responsible for the planning of annual educational seminars on eye donation. Nancy also coordinates exhibit displays for the Gift of Sight Eye Donor Program. Nancy is the Chair for the San Diego Eye Bank Nurses' Advisory Board. Nancy designs educational brochures and quarterly education posters, developed and implemented a donor program for the local hospices and manages and executes Donor Development for Hawaii Lions Eye Bank & Makana Foundation.
Nancy plans and executes physician continuing education including lectures, grand rounds, mini meetings and wetlabs and oversees and coordinates all continuing education for ophthalmic technicians bi-annually.
