Amanda Curtis is a Microbiology Consultant at ValSource with over 10 years of experience in medical and pharmaceutical microbiology. She received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Purdue University. Amanda started her career in clinical microbiology before moving into the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HCT/Ps) and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). She is experienced in complex investigations, microbial and contamination control, risk-based approaches to environmental monitoring (EM), and EM data analysis.

Jennifer DeMatteo, MCM, CIC, is the Director of Regulations and Standards for the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA). She oversees the EBAA Accreditation program, Medical Standards process and serves as their regulatory liaison. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Microbiology from Hahnemann University (now Drexel University). She was responsible for directing the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Employee Health programs and personnel in major tertiary hospital and ambulatory care settings. Ms. DeMatteo has been a Healthcare Epidemiologist for over 20 years and is certified in Infection Control & Epidemiology (CBIC).
